In our latest episode of Home Hacks, you can learn some fun decorating tricks that can easily be done with cookie cutters, an apple corer and powered sugar.

Dessert decoration hacks to try at home:

  1. Use lace paper doilies as cookie stencils. Trim the doily to size and cover with powdered sugar. 

  2. Chocolate bars can be used for fancy decorating too. Use a lighter to begin slightly melting one side of a chocolate bar, and then press the chocolate onto the plate into your desired patten. 

  3. Repurpose cookie cutters into cake topper molds. Microwave chocolate candy melts for two minutes, stirring every 30 seconds. Place parchment paper on a baking sheet, and spread out the cookie cutters. Fill each one with the melted chocolate, add sprinkles and refrigerate to set.

  4. Use an apple corer as a dessert stencil. Sprinkle spirulina powder or powdered sugar to make a simple pattern on your plate.
